5 Steps to Moving Forward

We’re all on our way to somewhere.

No matter where you find yourself, here are a few perspectives & suggestions that will help you show up + move towards a life that reflects what matters most.

#1 self awareness

Do you know the strengths & gifts God has given you? Learn & understand who God made you to be + what He’s made you capable of doing.

Know your values. Write down + define the values that ring true for you the most. The ones you want to align your life towards. The ones you want live out.

#2 vision or purpose

Friends, this is where it gets good! You have the freedom to create a vision for you & your family. So tell me, what do you want it to look like? A year from now, what could be different?

If you don’t have vision, where are you headed?

The goal is to move from where we are now to where we want to be. This is good. But here’s where I want to challenge us: Where are you now & where does God want you to be? This is what I pray we move towards.

Having a vision will compel & excite you to take action. & just think — If we can set a vision that aligns with God (& strengthen our faith that He will show up), I wholeheartedly believe joy is sure to follow in full glory.

…Not sure what your vision (or His) might be? Ask God for wisdom & discernment & a picture of where you’re headed.

#3 strategy

It’s time to prepare. The things you have learned & the information you have recieved, practice. (Philippians 4:9)

Know that because you are never stuck & because God is always moving His people forward, an obedient step or a faith-fueled decision is always a move in the right direction. Consider your options. Consider a plan. Consider a goal.

#4 action

Let’s go! It’s time to get moving!

Life is asking you to participate & you haven’t been placed on the bench to sit out. In the words of Emily P. Freeman, “do the next right thing you can see, in love”.

Make the effort.

#5 Jesus

Invite Jesus into the process. He makes our life matter. Be dependent upon Him for energy, inspiration, creativity, & strength. Know that in-between is absolutely the place you can ask for joy along the way.

As you make your way through this good work, welcome the new season with a grateful & expectant heart. Welcome Him. He is mighty in you.
