Here's What He's Asked Me To Do

As a mama, I get caught up in trying to make my home perfect & positive for my family.

When it comes to my work, I have a hard time letting go because it feels like there is always more I can do. To make it right. To make it better.

In short, I’m living too often by the rules I’ve set for myself. It’s leaving me with a clenched jaw & never feeling like what I’ve done is enough.

Perhaps I should remove the word “always” & “never” from my vocabulary. Perhaps I should replace the word “should” with “could”.

If the details don’t matter, then why do they mean so much?

He hasn’t asked me to keep to-do lists of to-do lists. He hasn’t asked me to set that goal. He hasn’t asked me to leave a legacy of organization.

Here’s what He’s asked me to do:

Love the Lord your God with all your heart. & with all your soul. & with all your might. & these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, & shall talk of them when you sit in your house, & when you walk by the way. & when you lie down. & when you rise. Deuteronomy 6:5-7

This is my verse for the month. & I’m challenging myself to:
✔️Prioritize this.
✔️Schedule this.
✔️Make the most of this.

It’s a start, I think will make all the difference.

A QUESTION OR TWO.
What pressures have you placed on yourself that no one has asked of you? What Truth could you hold onto to shift your perspective?
